Junior Student Challenges

Purpose

The purpose of the Junior Student level is to get you started in costuming in the SCA.

Requirements

Do one of the following:

• Take a class. The class must be on a subject related to costuming or textile arts. Provide the title of the class, the name of the teacher, the location or event name, and the date when the class was taken. Examples of classes submitted for this level by previous challengers include History of Costume, Survey of Medieval Underwear, Introduction to Drop Spindle Spinning, and Basic Embroidery.

Or

• Display one garment or accessory. Provide an image of the item that you are re-creating. Examples of garments and accessories done by previous challengers include a tunic, a pair of socks, a cloak, and a veil.

Level Emblem

In addition to the Guild emblem, the challenger who completes this level is entitled to wear a Rose Quartz gem.
